Coming to iOS and Android

Pixel Skin Studio with a 3D preview of a blocky character whose head has just been given a face, above the 8 by 8 grid used to paint it.
The head's front face open as an eight by eight grid with a painted face, and buttons for front, back, left, right, top and bottom.

Tap a face

Drag the model to turn it, tap the face you want, and that square opens as a grid. Front, back, left, right, top, bottom — for every part.

The tools panel with draw, fill, erase and pick, brush sizes, a mirror toggle, and a colour palette showing the current hex value.

Paint it

Draw, fill, erase, or pick a colour already on the skin. Brush sizes of one, four or nine pixels, and a palette that remembers what you just used.

Watch it move

The preview updates as you paint. Press walk to see the skin animated before you ever export it.

Mirror

Paint one side, get both

A character has two arms and two legs, and nobody wants to paint each twice.

Turn mirror on and every pixel you place lands on the opposite side at the same time. Turn it off when you want them to differ.

Undo

Step back through every stroke

Every change is kept, so you can walk backwards through what you did and forwards again. Nothing is lost because you tried something.

The 3D preview showing the character with a painted face, and a reset button.
